SELLING TIPS

 

The biggest tip is to make sure you let people KNOW what you have to offer! 

 

BE PREPARED FOR OPPORTUNITIES
Always carry contact information, a couple set of lashes (one that's already open and 1 to sell - or a few to sell), and a catalog.  I also think it's a really good idea to carry around some information about the business, like a flyer that shows what comes in the kit and highlights some of the benefits.  I also like to keep a sales receipt book (I purchased it from Office Max) so that way when I sell an item from my purse I can have a receipt, along with their contact information. 

 

There is NO inventory requirement with Younique.  And I will never encourage you to keep a lot of inventory on hand.  That being said, it's a very wise business decision to always have 4-5 sets of lashes on hand.  You will find someone, if you haven't already, that wants the lashes NOW (or yesterday, lol!). Often they have an event coming up this weekend or they only want to pickup locally because they don't purchase things online.  Whatever the reason, if you have some on hand you will be prepared for the opportunity. 


If you are able to, I suggest purchasing 4-5 sets....   Cash and carry made up a HUGE part of my business in my first couple of months.  I was also more motivated to sell them once I had invested money into products.  PLUS, that helps fulfill your "active" status with younique - easy peasy, done! 

Once you get your sets, keep 2 in your purse at all times and when you tell people about your new business you can mention that you actually have some with you.  I literally sell a few straight out of my purse every single month.   Just make sure you let people know!!  They won't know what you have to offer unless you tell them!!  Check out the experience these two presenters had when they had lashes on hand: 

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS get their contact info!!!
Unless you or the other person is in such a rush that all you can do is hand them a card you always want to get their contact information.  Even better, ask them if they have facebook on their phone.  Take their phone (with their permission) and go to facebook and find your profile and send yourself a friend request.  Then when YOU get home you can confirm that request and you are now connected to them on facebook - you can invite them to your business page, any open parties and they will see your posts on your profile.  WINNING!!

ALWAYS ASSUME THE SALE
If you simply ask for their contact information and never offer the sale you are missing out on opportunities.  If I have some lashes on hand I usually say something like, "Well you're in luck! I actually have a set in my bag.  Would you like to save on shipping and be able to get it right now?"

ASK CHOICE QUESTIONS or QUESTIONS THAT WILL ALWAYS BE ANSWERED “YES”
Direct them to the products and ask them “ what colors do you usually like to wear” instead of “do you wear eye shadow”. 

LEVERAGE THE MONTHLY SPECIALS AND THE COLLECTIONS
Show them how much they save by purchasing in bulk or with the special.  Specials can help to create urgency! 

BE THE PROFESSIONAL
As the consultant you are helping them to decide what to purchase.  They will base a lot of their decision on your recommendations and well as how well you listen to what they would be interested.  Ask questions and then be quiet and LISTEN!

STUDY PSYCHOLOGY
* Learn tips about reading and influencing behavior.
* Nod your head & SMILE when you ask questions to prompt others to say yes. 
* Start with a higher priced item and be able to offer an alternative. 
* When you ask a question WAIT for the ANSWER.
* Tell yourself you CAN!!  Daily Positive Affirmation!
 * Always listen for the maybe and offer alternatives to objections.
* Smile and have positive energy!!  Be the person that other people naturally gravitate to.

Learn to answer objections with FEEL, FELT, FOUND.
Customer:  “I’m worried this mascara will take too long to put on each morning”
Presenter: “I understand how your feel..  I, too am busy in the morning and  I don’t always have a lot of time to put on makeup.   What most people have found is that it really takes just a few minutes to get the look they want . . . really not that much longer than regular mascara.   Once you get the process down it will be super quick."

PROVIDE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Direct sales depends so much on personalized customer service.  A few simple things can really help your relationship with your customers and potential customers.  
* Do what you say you are going to do.  If you tell someone you will call them back at a specific time, make sure you do it.  Use a calendar or an app like Evernote to help you stay organized. 
* Communicate!  If you feel there is something about the product that the customer should now, make sure you tell them.  Ex: Brillian has little pearls.  To use, just scoop up a pearl along with some gel and then rub onto skin. 
* Send the TIPS & TRICKS sheet for the 3D Fiber Lashes.  It will REALLY help improve the experience your customers have with the lashes. 
* Send a thank you card.  I personally like to email/msg my customer right after the order with a quick "thanks" and the tips sheet attached.  Then if I have their address I will mail them a thank you card with samples of a couple of eye shadow pigments.  Anytime you can put additional product in the hands of someone that has already purchased, that is a great idea.  I also love that with the little personal mail that people receive these days, my thank you card will stand out and now they will have a business card for easy contact for future orders.
